Box Size Shipping Settings

Overview: Box size shipping settings allow users to set the shipping fee according to the product’s box dimensions, including length, width, and height. With this option, you can optimize packaging and reduce shipping costs by setting up the most suitable box size for each order. This benefits users since they will get efficient packaging by removing wasted space and unwanted shipping fees.

Box size shipping settings include the following options:

  • Disable/ Enable option

  • Taxable Option

  • Boxes (Provide size and fee information)

Let’s take a closer look at each option to configure the shipping settings for the box size.

Disable/ Enable Option

You can turn on the Box Size Shipping Settings with this button. Enabling this button will allow the shipping manager plugin to handle the shipping fees according to box size across your website. Otherwise, the default WooCommerce-based shipping features will work.

Taxable

You cannot change the taxable option from the Box Size Shipping settings. By enabling the taxable option, the shipping cost will be calculated with added tax. Disabling the option will count only the shipping fees in the total cost, excluding the tax amount.

However, go to Settings to configure the Taxable settings. Here, you can enable or disable the Taxable option. After changing the taxable option, click the Save Settings button for the Taxable option to take effect.

Boxes

In this section, you can provide different box sizes (length, width, height). Let’s set the length, width, height, and fee to witness how it works. Now, click the Save Settings button to set the values that you’ve inserted.

Now, go to your WooCommerce store’s shop page, select a product, and click the Edit product option.

Keep in mind that Box Size Shipping will work properly when the Dimensions of the product are given. Scroll down, go to Shipping, and enter the Dimensions (Length - 9cm, Width- 5cm, Height- 7cm). Then click the Update button to save the changes.

Now go back to the Shop page and click the Add to Cart button below the product you edited.

Then go to the Checkout page to view the Order summary and shipping information.

As you can see, the Shipping Fee of $10 has been added since the product's dimensions were Length 9cm, Width 5cm, and Height 7cm. This dimension meets the criteria previously entered in the Box Size Settings and sets the shipping fees to $10.

Similarly, you can change the dimension value and test other shipping values according to different dimensions. Let’s set a dimension value that is not defined in the Box Size Shipping settings. Then click the Update button to save the changes.

As you can see, we haven’t set any value above 30 in the Box Size Shipping Settings. But we’ve defined a value of more than 30 inside the WooCommerce shipping settings.

Now, if you go to the checkout page, you’ll see that the shipping fee for the shipping manager plugin is not shown in the order summary.

Now, go back to the Shipping Manager plugin and set the Boxes value to Length 50, Width 50, Height 50, and price 50.

Now, go to the Shop page and select the product for which you’ve set the dimension value to Length 50, Width 50, Height 50. Then, go to the checkout page.

As you can see, a shipping fee of $50 has been added, which we’ve set in the shipping manager plugin.

That's all about Box Size Shipping Settings!
