Overview: You can set different shipping rules for a specific zone or region. There are several shipping rules available in Shipping Manager. Let’s explore all those shipping rules within the plugin.
Go to WooCommerce > Settings and then click Shipping. You can see there are two shipping zones we’ve created earlier. Now, click Edit on your preferred shipping zone to explore the available shipping rules.
Under shipping rules, you will get six features that will be extended in the pro version of the Shipping Manager. The available methods or rules are:
General
Flat Rate
Cart
Subtotal
Total
Product
Per Weight Unit (Kg)
Total Weight
Shipping Class
Here is a brief info of all the settings available under shipping rules:
General
> Flat Rate: Flat Rate Shipping is a method where you charge a fixed amount for shipping, regardless of the product weight, size, or distance.
Cart
> Subtotal: Cart Subtotal Shipping in WooCommerce is a method that adjusts shipping costs based on the total value of the customer’s cart.
> Total: The cart total shipping method calculates shipping fees based on the entire value of the customer’s cart, including discounts, fees, and taxes if configured that way.’
Product
> Per Unit Weight (kg): This means the shipping cost is calculated based on the weight of each individual item.
> Total Weight: This method calculates shipping based on the combined weight of all items in the cart.
> Shipping Class: Shipping classes let you group products with similar shipping needs—like fragile items, heavy goods, or express delivery items—and apply custom rates to each group.
You have three options/buttons under shipping rules. Let’s explore the functionalities of these buttons:
Add New Row: Clicking on the Add New Row button will add a new row of shipping rules, which you can configure with different shipping rules. We’ve set Subtotal as the new shipping rule in the new row.
Duplicate Selected: To duplicate your preferred row, click the checkbox located at the left side of a shipping rule.
After clicking the Duplicate Selected button, a new row is created with a similar shipping rule or condition.
Delete Selected: You can delete your selected shipping rules from the list of shipping rules that you’ve created. Simply select a shipping rule and click the Delete Selected button.
Then click Save Changes to apply the changes.
